Prophetic Sensings
On 20 October 2024, the church gathered for an extended time of worship, prayer, and seeking God together. We moved through 3 main themes that God was leading us into — Consecration, Unity and Holy Purpose.
We started the service with a Devotional that encapsulated the time we were entering into and guided the posture we ought to undertake as we waited on the Lord. Throughout the service, we were invited to share our prophetic sensings for the church and for what we sensed God is calling The City to.
GUSH Kids also had a prayer service where our GUSH Teachers brought them through a time of worship and response with the same 3 themes.
The following are a collection of all your prophetic words, impressions, proclamations, and sensings for our church.

Ephesians 2:6 (Wuest An Expanded Translation) 6 and raised us with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, For each of us individually, and corporately to live in the high call of God, as He has positioned us already in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus - we have all we need: we are to step and move forward with courage to do what the Lord has already commanded us to do Mark 16:17-18 MSG [17-18] “These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues, they will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well.”

Every individual is going to be light in this time of darkness overshadowing the world. Like lighthouses, God will work through you to bring love and peace to the world.

Reliance and obedience in Him, to be brave in pursuing His heart

To build up his people for good works. Item

To live out our call as priests (1 Peter 2:4-12), and that starts from a place of stewarding a burning heart (Luke 24:31-32). To surrender to God's refining fire (Zech 13:8-9), to desire hearts and spirits that are humble, pure and contrite (Isaiah 57:15, Isaiah 66:1-2).
-
For the first commandment (Deut 6:5-6) to always be our foundation. And for us to intentionally live it out corporately and individually (Deut 6:7). To remember His faithfulness, repent from self-reliance, from allowing comfort to become an idol, from making church all about ourselves, and return back to remembering the Lord and returning to a place of wholeheartedness (Deut 6:10-12).

Matthew 5:14 Take hold of your prophetic identity that Christ has made and ordained for this community. You are called “City Church”. The City in the hill. You are His light! God is doing a work of shining His light upon every individual’s lives — and corporately. When repentance is the first step, you have chosen not to walk in darkness, and by His grace, He has saved you from darkness. And as you are in His light, others will see His light in you. Take hold of the truth in 1 John 1:7

Unity of hearts: Within our church community. Open hearts, intentionality to know, pray, link arms as a people of God, a tribe that is set apart.
-
He is enough for us even with just 5 loaves and 2 fishes. In my weakness i m strong in Him. As we approach this throne of grace, our identities is not define by works but our daily dying to self and more of Jesus. I also sense, we as a community, as rich as we are lying our crowns collectively to build his kingdom. To God be the glory, amen.

As I meditated upon the Lord bf the service, the word “Peniel” was impressed upon me. “Peniel” meaning the ‘face of God’. Jacob wrestled with God and prevailed. Jacob demonstrated that he was willing to let God prevail in his life. In response, God changed Jacob's name to Israel, meaning 'let God prevail. ' God then promised Israel that all the blessings that had been pronounced upon Abraham's head would also be his” “The same night he arose and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven children, and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. He took them and sent them across the stream, and everything else that he had. And Jacob was left alone. And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. Then he said, “Let me go, for the day has broken.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” And he said to him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Jacob.” Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked him, “Please tell me your name.” But he said, “Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, “For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.”” Genesis 32:22-30 ESV

I saw a vision of the dove with the olive branch returning to Noah on the ark (Genesis 8:11). This is a time of cleansing/trials, it might not be comfortable but God will keep us safe on the ark. After the dove returns with the branch, Noah still has to wait another 7 days before disembarking. I feel the dove is a symbol of hope that sustains us through the time of cleansing. In contrast to what the descendants of Noah did years later in building the Tower of Babel, the first thing Noah did when he got back to land was to build an altar (Genesis 8:20). I feel like the seven days mirror the church’s fast, and culminates into our gathering today as the ‘altar’, and we are now to follow through on the commands given to us.

A shift from consumerism to becoming disciples. Recognising that we are individual living stones that come together to build a spiritual house for God (1 Pet 2:5).

Bear fruit that will last John15:16 To grow in unity as a body of Christ 1. Unity w all people groups People with Creative ideas and thoughts- outside the norm and this not as creative Discern with The Word of God - Spirit led with the application of the contents deep and reasonable logical sound 2. embrace and connection with the different generations esp the older to the younger and the younger with the older . Both comes together and merging a blending The uncut stones 1. To unlearn from the past ( due to disappointments ) and to learn afresh with the Holy Spirit 2. Iron sharpen iron - Purpose to build fresh relationships and new bonds with people outside your 'comfort zone' and learn to connect n partner as fellow God's family with others in ministry ( expand your usual life group friends and get out and make new connections) Be open hearted and embrace ““For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Haggai 2:6-8 NKJV “‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.” ‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”” Haggai 2:9, 23 NKJV “Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19 NKJV

A season of pruning; Although pruning can be painful and/or uncomfortable, to recognise that it comes from a place of love and the purpose of it is fruitfulness (John 15:2). To also redefine our paradigm of fruitfulness, that it is not defined by human standards, but by spiritual ones (Gal 5:22).

Three 'words' that were shared come to mind - "Uncut stones", "Unity in diversity", and "not a performance/stop evaluating". As we each bare ourselves as uncut stones, our masks/disguises will need to be taken off and our true selves will be made known to our community. I pray that we will be able to suspend our judgment and celebrate our diversity/differences. We pray for unity in these differences. All in all, so that we can be a church that do not expect church or life group meetings to a performance for ourselves. I pray that we will be able to change our perspectives - from one that we are the audience of the church, to one that *God is our audience of one*. That we will stop evaluating, because, who are we to evaluate? God is the one who evaluates on what or who is pleasing to Him.

During the service, my left ear started to itch. I looked up if there was a spiritual significance. 2 Tim 4:2-5 “proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favourable or unfavourable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths. As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.” If this speaks to any of us - whether to repent for straying from sound teaching or to be encouraged to be persistent in suffering and proclaiming the good news - may God bless us.

Our legacy is for the generations too. What God has done is a testament for the next generation. “that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.”” Joshua 4:6-7 ESV

As we sang “May the flame of my heart always be lit” - I asked God how can we sustain a fire that never goes out, as fickle humans; God will light the flame - I saw a fire from heaven that consumed the congregation (the offering and entire altar); a holy fire, that burns all that is unclean. God will cleanse and sustain His people.

Pruning (John 15) - an image of stumping, a pruning method of cutting down the tree so that only a stump remains. There is zero yield for one year but later the yield will be multiples what it was before. I sense strongly in the sharings - pain, cutting, feeling like death, but our God is not a God of the dead, but of the living. So there will be a bigger yield and more life when the pruning is over. Discipline - let us thank God for his love, because he disciplines those he loves (Hebrews 12). What does "yield" mean? What is God leading us and this church to? The image/parable of the two houses built on rock and sand in Matthew 7. The foundation is "hidden" from sight until a time of crisis (winds and rain), but it is the most important. That God desires and is pleased with the hidden person of the heart. That we may be a people whose private lives have that foundation built on rock. Not for others to see, but that God may see and be pleased.

To be a safe space to revive the spirits of the lowly, and the hearts of the contrite. But we have to first start with building Him a dwelling place (Isa 57:15).

God wants to speak with us, asking us to “lend an ear” as His hands and feet on earth; he wishes for us to respond with “Here I am”. May we make time and space for God, and to listen and follow in obedience.

I received an impression during worship of a wall. This is different from the wall described in Ephesians 2:14 which Jesus has broken down. It's also different from what's described in Gen 11:3 which had baked bricks for stone, and had asphalt for mortar. I see a wall 🧱 made up of living stones of different forms, shapes, sizes and composition which ought not to fit together as they aren't uniform, but the bond among them is love. These uncut stones are not uniform but they are fearfully and wonderfully made. The interesting thing about the living stones is that they have a choice whether to join in to make the wall together or to just lie there as scattered stones. I see the mortar and it is blood red, and it's the blood of our Saviour that flows down from Calvary that binds and holds the stones together in that wall.

John 13:35 New International Version 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” We need to be a community of love and it first starts in the church, are we interested in our LG members life and to walk through the different moments in life. Are we too consumed by our own life and activities and we forgot about the community that God has placed us in?

To posture ourselves as terracotta vessels - porous, posture of acceptance and dependence on God. To source for the “right” type of water to draw from to “build”/grow; source from God. (Wrong water type e.g. actually clogs up the terracotta such that plants can’t grow).
